National Association of Women in Construction
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, founded on September 11, 1953 by Doris Efird and 15 other women who were looking for a support system. Just over 12 years later, the Charlotte Chapter of NAWIC was chartered on April 16, 1966, by founding members Phyllis Beachum and Betty Keuster (both of whom are still members today!) and many other amazing women. This month we celebrate the 55th anniversary of the chartering in Charlotte and thank all those who came before us!
